TiviMate Backup and Restore: Save Your Settings and Playlists

Backing up your TiviMate settings saves your playlists, EPG configuration, channel groups, and all preferences. This guide covers how to backup and restore TiviMate on Firestick and Android TV, so you never lose your setup when reinstalling or switching devices.

How to Backup TiviMate Settings

Open TiviMate and go to Settings > General > Backup. Tap Backup Now. TiviMate creates a backup file containing all your playlists, EPG sources, channel customizations, and app settings. The backup is saved to your device internal storage. Note the file name and location.

How to Restore TiviMate Settings

After reinstalling TiviMate or moving to a new device, go to Settings > General > Restore. Select the backup file you created. TiviMate will reload all your playlists, settings, and customizations. If the backup was from a different device version, some settings may not transfer.

Backup Before Uninstalling

Always create a backup before uninstalling TiviMate. Uninstalling the app deletes all local data including playlists and settings. After reinstalling, use the Restore function to get everything back. This is especially important if you are reinstalling to fix crashes or corrupted data.

Transfer Settings Between Devices

To transfer TiviMate settings from Firestick to Android TV (or between any devices): backup on the source device, copy the backup file using a file manager or cloud storage, then place it on the target device and use Restore. The TiviMate Companion App also syncs playlists across devices but does not transfer all settings.

TiviMate Backup File Location

Backup files are stored in the TiviMate app data folder. On Firestick, this is in internal storage under Android > data > ar.tvplayer.tv. On Android TV, it is in the same folder structure. Use a file manager app like X-plore to copy backup files to cloud storage or USB drives.

What Does a TiviMate Backup Include?

• All playlist connections (M3U URLs and Xtream Codes credentials)
• EPG source URLs and configuration
• Channel groups, favorites, and custom order
• Locked channels and parental control settings
• Playback settings (decoder, buffer size, etc.)
• General preferences and UI settings

Not included: recorded files, downloaded EPG data cache, and the TiviMate app APK itself.
