TiviMate Parental Controls: Lock Channels and Restrict Content

TiviMate includes built-in parental controls that let you lock specific channels, restrict content by rating, and prevent unauthorized purchases. This guide covers how to set up TiviMate parental controls on Firestick and Android TV.

How to Set Up Parental Controls in TiviMate

Open TiviMate and go to Settings > Parental Control. You will be asked to set a 4-digit PIN. Once enabled, you can lock channels, restrict content by age rating, and require the PIN to make changes.

Step 1: Enable Parental Control

Navigate to Settings > Parental Control and toggle it ON. Enter a 4-digit PIN you will remember. If you forget the PIN, you must clear TiviMate data and reconfigure everything.

Step 2: Lock Specific Channels

Browse to any channel in the guide or channel list, press and hold the OK button on your remote, and select Lock. The channel will show a lock icon and require the PIN to watch. To unlock, press and hold OK again and select Unlock.

Step 3: Set Content Rating Restrictions

In Settings > Parental Control, you can set a maximum content rating. Channels with a rating above the limit will require the PIN to play. Rating systems vary by region and provider.

How to Change or Remove the Parental PIN

Go to Settings > Parental Control > Change PIN. Enter the current PIN, then enter the new PIN twice. To disable parental controls entirely, toggle Parental Control OFF and enter your PIN to confirm.

Forgot TiviMate Parental PIN?

If you forget your TiviMate parental PIN, there is no recovery option. You must clear the app data. Go to Settings > Apps > TiviMate > Clear Data. Warning: this removes all your playlists and settings — save your playlist URLs first.

Parental Controls on Firestick vs Android TV

The parental control feature works identically on Firestick and Android TV. The only difference is how you access the Settings menu. The lock and PIN features are the same across all TiviMate-supported platforms.
